About Filmlog: Movies & Theaters

For the love of movies: The personal app for your cinematic journey — since 2013 Search 315,000 movies, 464,000 people and 58,000 cinemas offline, follow new theatrical releases, plan with your watchlist and challenges, listen to soundtracks from Apple Music, and keep a personal diary of what you watched, with whom and where. FIND OFFLINE • Movies and people: 315,000 movies and 464,000 people, searchable without a connection. • Nearby cinemas: 58,000 cinemas, by name or near you. • Characters and locations: find a movie by who's in the story and where it's set. • Sources and subjects: by the book it was based on and what it's about. ENJOY • Statistics and widgets: your watching habits, on your Home Screen too. • Custom posters: choose the poster you like for every movie you've seen. • Soundtracks: the movie's album on Apple Music, where one was released. DISCOVER • Follow people: get notified when their next movie is released. • Filmographies: everything a person worked on, and how much of it you've seen. ORGANIZE • Watchlist: sections for announced and upcoming movies. • Diary: every viewing with its date; a rewatch is its own entry. • Favorites and ratings: favorites, five or ten stars. • Notes: a note for each viewing. • Challenges: lists with a goal and a progress bar — a hundred movies, a director, a year. • Inbox: movies and challenges shared with you land here. SHARE • Movies and challenges: a shared challenge carries the whole list inside the link, with no record on any server. MANAGE • Multi-device support: one library across iPhone, iPad and Mac. • Siri, Shortcuts and Spotlight: log a movie or add it to your watchlist without opening the app. • Import and export: bring your history, watchlist and ratings from Letterboxd, IMDb, Filmtipset or any CSV; export and backup are always free. • Apple TV: your watchlist on the big screen, as a companion to the app. FILMLOG PLUS Filmlog Plus adds multi-device support, star ratings, notes per viewing, watch companions, the cinema on the entry, statistics and widgets, unlimited challenges, unlimited following, extended cinema search, importing your matched library, custom posters, tile/list switching and custom facts, additional app icons and the Claude Desktop extension on the Mac. What’s new

Version 2026.10 · Updated October 21, 2026

Ready for iPhone Duo — plus a round of improvements and fixes. NEW • Filmlog is ready for iPhone Duo. IMPROVED • Search — a film found only through its titles in other languages now says in how many languages it matched, and a title in another language shows a small tag with its language. • iPad — the poster page's actions sit on the page itself, centered next to the poster. • Apple TV — a poster you picked for a film now shows there too. FIXED • A poster you picked while adding a film only showed up everywhere after restarting the app. // Thanks Steffen • A poster picked on another device could stay blank on the film's page. • Releases sometimes showed a film's poster in another language than the rest of the app. • Someone you followed from Search only showed up in Releases after restarting the app. • A film added to the watchlist or marked as seen from its page, the Inbox included, only showed up in the list after restarting the app. • Switching to the Releases tab stalled the app for a moment. • The System appearance stayed dark instead of following your device's light or dark mode. • The search field floated far above the emoji keyboard. • On iPad, a long To Watch note pushed its last lines and the cursor under the keyboard. • Searching for people could show an error for people who exist only in the offline catalog. • Half-star ratings ignored how your language writes decimal numbers. • The screen title was unreadable on a film's age ratings and on its titles in other languages. • A crash at launch with the Saudi Arabia, Egypt or Iran region format. • On iPad in Arabic, the film poster sat under the action panel.
