About SADISS Client

SADISS is a web-based application developed in the research project ‘The Choir & the Sound System’ at Anton Bruckner university (Linz, Austria) that bundles smartphones into monumental yet intricate sound systems or choirs. Two different forms of portable seas of sound are possible: (1) a massively multi-channel sound system for re-synthesizing compositions right in the middle of the gathering of listeners using their smartphones’ loudspeakers. (2) facilitating ad hoc choirs of human singers, individually guided via headphones With this app YOU can participate in a SADISS performance. Check out sadiss.net to find events near you!

What’s new

Version 2.1.0 · Updated October 20, 2026

• Sound keeps playing when your iPhone locks. You can lock the screen during a performance and stay in sync. • The lock screen's play and pause buttons no longer stop the performance. • The screen stays on for the whole performance, not only while connected. • The app reconnects to the server by itself if the connection drops. • Better timing when the connection is replaced, so devices stay in sync. • The logo no longer sits under the iPhone notch. • Updated to the latest iOS frameworks for better stability.
