About Mateflow

Your name and your picture • Change your username in Settings › Account. The first change can be made at any time; after that, once every 30 days. If a name can't be used, the reason appears right under the field. • Remove an avatar or cover image, on your profile or on a space you manage: tap the image, then choose Change or Remove. • A space's uploaded avatar now shows everywhere the space appears, including the Browse categories and search suggestions. • Profile fields count characters the same way the website does, and an emoji counts as one. A long bio written on the website is no longer cut short when you save from the app. Posting and editing • Editing a post keeps its link preview and attachments, and a post with a poll saves normally. Once voting has started or the poll has ended, its options are locked and the app says why. • Polls can run for 14 or 30 days. • If a post fails to send, trying again keeps its content warning, schedule, topics and reply settings. • Questions in the home feed, search and profiles look like questions, with their status, upvotes and number of answers. • A YouTube video added on the website appears as a video card in articles, lessons and event descriptions. • Reading time for articles in Chinese, Japanese or Korean is estimated from the characters, so a long article no longer reads as "1 min". • Posting to a topic reserved for moderators now tells you so. • Adding poll options is smoother, and the composer's top bar fits smaller screens. Joining in • In a public chat space, you can join right above the message box. • If you haven't joined a space yet, liking, reposting, saving or replying tells you to join first, instead of quietly undoing itself. • After you join a space, the button waits until you're fully in, so liking and posting work straight away. Running a space • All five layouts are available in space settings, including Stacked and Gallery. • The overview counts posts without their replies, and updates as soon as something is posted or deleted. • When you create a space, categories open in a list, and tapping Create with the name or category missing takes you to what's missing. Events and live rooms • Creating or editing an event points to the field that needs fixing, instead of a general error. • When picking the space for an event or a live room, you can reach all of your spaces, not just the first batch — and for live rooms, search them. • Coming back to an event shows your latest RSVP, so if you've moved off the waitlist, you see it straight away. • A host can open a room once they are backstage, and if opening or ending a room fails, the app says why. Also • The button at the top left is now a menu button. • The ··· menu on a post opens every time. • Screen readers announce the composer's toolbar buttons and the choices on the create-space page.
