Today's story Every day there's one story at the top of Home, the same one for everyone, so we can all talk about it. Once you've read it, see what other readers thought and what to read next. Earlier stories keeps the ones you missed, and you can ask for a morning notification in Settings. Keep a line Press and hold a sentence while you read to keep it. Drag to take in the sentences either side. Add an emoji or a short note, share it as a picture, and find all your lines again in the new Lines tab in Library. At the end of a story you'll see the lines other readers kept most. How was it? At the end of a story, pick one word for how it was, from "loved it" to "couldn't stop", and see how other readers felt. Picking a word likes the story. If you tapped the wrong thing, "Changed your mind?" takes it back. Reading together The top of a story shows who else has been reading it, and story cards say how many people are reading now. You choose whether others can see you in Settings. Suggest a prompt Anyone can now put forward an idea for the week after next, once a week, and edit or delete it while the round is open. Prompt Pick winners show on Home and on their author's page. Meet Ember Ember the book dragon can be your reading buddy instead of Dewey. Pick her in Settings. Both of them dress up for Halloween in October and Christmas in December, and there's a Halloween colour theme for October too. A fresh look Discover's filter is now a bookshelf, and Discover opens with the Top 10. History is a reading diary, Following has cards and tiles, your profile is now your own author page, and stories without a cover get a jacket of their own. Moving covers play wherever you see them. Easier to start, harder to get signed out Someone you send a story to can read it before making an account. Signing up is simpler, and the app asks about notifications when it matters rather than straight away. You should be asked to sign in far less often, Android keeps you signed in after a reinstall, and signing out of one phone no longer signs you out everywhere.
