About Delta Chat
Delta Chat is a reliable decentralized instant messenger that is easy and fun to use for friends, family, groups and organizations. Delta Chat is developed by a dedicated FOSS contributor community that jointly releases refinements and new features several times a year, across many stores and platforms world-wide. Features at a glance: • Private. Instant on-boarding without a phone number or other private data. • Friends & Family: Only chat with people you know. Unknown users cannot message or follow you without mutual consent. • Flexible. Supports multiple chat profiles and is easy to setup on multiple devices. • Reliable. Works under bad and adversarial network conditions. • Secure. Audited End-to-End encryption safe against network and server attacks. • Sovereign. Can be run with your own e-mail address or server. • FOSS. Fully Open Source/Free Software, built on Internet Standards.

Version 2.62.2 · Updated September 30, 2026
- Onboard on multiple relays by default - No need to mark a relay for sending, this is chosen by the core automatically - Better image quality - Show a hint about contacts not seen for a while - Show coarse time when a contact was seen in the profile headers - More reliable and quicker notifications and call ringing - Update notification when its message is edited - Remove notification if its message is deleted - Improved share sheet reliability - Remove a relay immediately instead of unpublishing it - Carry all relays in invite links for better connectivity - Respect "media quality" when sending videos - Verification line is no longer needed, all contacts have that mean and are e2ee by default since V2 - Improve fetching messages in background - Better file preview when drafting a message - Fix: Do not load webxdc icon if it has too large dimensions - Fix: No longer send read receipts when call window is covering messages - Fix removing quotes or attachments from drafts pre-liquid-glass These features will roll out over the coming days.
