About MChess
MChess is a chess app for players who enjoy familiar rules with new tactical possibilities. Start with standard chess, then try the expanded mode: build a custom army with a fixed point budget and play with hybrid pieces such as the Maharajah, Archbishop, and Chancellor. The app validates custom setups before a match starts, so unusual positions still begin from clear legal rules. Play on one device, practice against the built-in engine, or use local network play when two players want separate devices. LAN hidden setup lets each player prepare privately before both armies are revealed and the match begins.

Light themes Every dark screen theme now has a light partner: Sky, Cream, Mint, Mist, Lavender and Paper — for playing in daylight. Pick one in Settings → UI. Cream uses the palette of maharajah.one, and the site opens in the light partner of your theme. Fixes - Joining a game on the local network no longer fails with "connection refused" while the host is waiting in its lobby. - An online game won by checkmate is no longer announced as a resignation, and the board no longer flips when you review that game afterwards. - Checkmate now names the winner — "White wins by checkmate" — also when two players share one device. - Leaving an online or LAN game while it is still connecting no longer leaves a stray "connection lost" message over your next game. - An aborted match ends in silence instead of playing the losing sound to both players.
