Oil & Gas Reference is an offline toolkit for drilling and production engineers, students and anyone working in the oil and gas industry. All reference data, calculations and the glossary work without an internet connection. REFERENCE • Casing, tubing and drill pipe: sizes, wall thicknesses and weights (inch and metric) • Steel grades, densities of common materials, chemical formulas • Heat of combustion of common fuels, typical natural gas composition, SI prefixes, pH ranges • Overview of casing strings and gas separation CALCULATIONS • Pipe capacity and annular volume • Open-end and close-end pipe displacement • Flow velocity in pipe and annulus • Hydrostatic pressure and buoyancy factor • Triplex and duplex pump output • Neutral point of the drill string • Specific gravity to mud weight, psi to bar, °C to °F Enter numbers with either a decimal point or a comma. Version 2.5 brings metric units, faster navigation and a more comfortable calculator screen. UNITS • Choose US Oilfield, Metric (bar, SG) or SI (kPa, kg/m³) units on first launch. • Tap the unit next to any value to change it — the choice applies to all calculators. • Values you have entered are converted automatically when you switch units. • Kill mud weight is rounded up in your unit: 0.1 ppg, 0.01 SG or 10 kg/m³. NAVIGATION • Search across all calculators and tables — including values inside tables, such as a steel grade or a pipe size. • Star calculators and tables to keep them in Favorites; recently opened items appear on top. • Calculators and reference tables are grouped into topics. • On iPad, every topic is one tap away in the sidebar. CALCULATORS • Fields start empty, with an example value shown below each one. • Your last entered values are remembered for every calculator. • On long forms like the kill sheet, the main results stay pinned at the bottom while you type. • Move between fields with the arrows above the keyboard. • Share the full calculation as text, or touch and hold a result to copy it. ALSO NEW • Dark Mode and support for larger text sizes. • A–Z index in the glossary. • Copy values in the Converter with touch and hold. • Pipe Capacity and Annular Volume now work in any units as single calculators. • Neutral point now takes pipe weight in lb/ft and mud weight in ppg.
