About Datatool
Datatool is a Thatcham insurance industry approved GPS/GLONASS/GSM based tracking and theft notification service designed specifically for scooters and motorcycles but now with Journey History and G-Sense impact detection. Datatool activates automatically as soon as the ignition is switched off and monitors the bike for signs of unauthorised movement. If movement is detected without the ignition being switched on and the bike is moved away from where it was parked, Datatool will enter full alert mode and notification will be sent to the dedicated 24/7/365 Datatool Monitoring Team. In the event of a suspected theft, the Datatool Monitoring Team will contact the owner immediately and if a theft is confirmed, will liaise with the Police on the owner’s behalf to aid recovery. The Datatool app allows owners to view the location of their vehicle(s), view journey history, enable the G-Sense alert crash detection, manage account details and communicate directly with the Datatool Monitoring Team. Please note: This app requires the Datatool system to be installed on the motorcycle or scooter by an authorised dealer or mobile installer. What's new - Privacy Mode check: turning on Privacy Mode now explains what it does and asks you to confirm before it is switched on. - American English: pick English (US) in the app's language settings to see US wording, such as License Plate, Color and ZIP Code, and dates shown month first. - Phone Tag on the vehicle details screen: set up phone tag, or switch it on and off, from a vehicle's details, just as you can from the vehicle card. - Defender alarms from any phone: Settings now lists all your Defender alarms, including ones not paired with this phone, which you can still arm and disarm over the network. The alarm screen also shows which vehicle the alarm is fitted to. - Renewing too early: if your subscription can't be renewed yet, the plans screen now tells you the date you can renew from. Bug fixes - Phone tag switched on from the vehicle card: it now starts looking for your vehicle straight away, instead of only after the app was reopened. - Phone tag with Bluetooth off: the Phone Tag screen now says it is waiting for Bluetooth, and phone tag picks up again by itself if it stopped while Bluetooth was off. - Immobiliser status on STM100, STM130 and STM200 trackers: a parked vehicle on Auto now shows as Armed instead of being stuck on "Waiting for the command to reach the vehicle". - Vehicle details load faster for vehicles with a Defender alarm: the rest of the screen no longer waits for the alarm's details. - Dates follow your language: service and warranty dates on the vehicle details screen now use your chosen language's date format, and journey dates show the full year.
