Holy Quran (abdullah Yusuf)

The Quran by Abdullah Yusuf Ali is a widely respected English translation completed in 1934, known for its clear, poetic language and detailed commentary. It is one of the first complete translations of the Quran into English, offering explanations alongside the text to help readers understand historical, theological, and legal contexts. Yusuf Ali’s Holy Quran translation stands out for its eloquent style, though its complexity can challenge some readers. His extensive footnotes provide valuable insights into the meaning of verses and Islamic teachings, making it both accessible and scholarly. While praised for making the Quran accessible to English speakers, it has faced some criticism for occasional deviations from the literal Arabic text and for the influence of the translator's personal views in the commentary. Yusuf Ali’s Holy Quran remains a widely used translation, shaping the understanding of the Quran among English-speaking Muslims.
