MyVoiceApp - AAC Speech Aid

MyVoiceApp is an AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) app designed to help people who have difficulty speaking due to laryngectomy, tracheostomy, or other medical conditions affecting their ability to speak. One of the key features of MyVoiceApp is the ability to communicate using your own recorded voice. By recording words and phrases in advance, you can continue to use your own voice for communication even if you lose the ability to speak. Simply tap large, easy-to-use icons to play your recorded voice and express your thoughts, feelings, and needs. For words or phrases you have not recorded, or sentences you want to create on the spot, MyVoiceApp also supports the built-in text-to-speech (TTS) functionality of your iPhone or iPad. MyVoiceApp is based on an application originally researched and developed jointly by our company and Hyogo Medical University in Japan to help people who have lost their voice following surgery for head and neck cancer communicate using recordings of their own voice made before surgery. Additional features have since been developed to make the app suitable for everyday use. Key Features ■ Communicate Using Your Own Recorded Voice Record and save words and phrases while you are still able to speak, such as before surgery. You can then use these recordings to communicate in your own voice, even if speaking becomes difficult or impossible. ■ Simple Operation with Large Icons Simply tap an icon to play a recorded word or phrase. Large, easy-to-recognize icons make the app intuitive to use, helping you quickly find and express what you want to say without complicated navigation or searching. ■ Text-to-Speech (TTS) Support For words and phrases that have not been recorded, MyVoiceApp can use the built-in text-to-speech functionality of your iPhone or iPad. On devices that support Apple's Personal Voice feature, you can also have text spoken in a synthesized voice that sounds similar to your own. Personal Voice requires a compatible device, operating system, supported language, and prior setup. ■ Type and Speak Any Sentence Type a sentence using the keyboard and have it spoken aloud immediately. This feature is useful when you need to communicate something that has not been saved in the app, or when you want to express something specific to the situation. ■ Organize Words and Phrases by Situation Organize words and phrases for different situations, such as medical appointments, hospital stays, conversations with family, and everyday activities. Only the words and phrases relevant to the selected situation are displayed, making it easier to find what you need to say. ■ Customize the App to Your Needs Add or edit words, phrases, icon images, and conversation groups to suit your individual needs. Create a personalized communication environment with the expressions you use most often. ■ Communicate Without an Internet Connection Play recorded voice messages and use your device's built-in text-to-speech functionality without an internet connection. Personal Voice can also be used offline on supported devices. Whether you are in a hospital, at home, or out and about, MyVoiceApp helps you communicate without relying on an internet connection. Ready-to-Use Words and Phrases MyVoiceApp includes approximately 80 predefined icons representing words and phrases commonly used in hospitals and everyday life.
