The Croatian word newspaper was founded in 2002 by a decision of the Assembly of AP Vojvodina, and two years later the founding rights were transferred to the National Council of the Croatian National Minority in Serbia - HNV.
The institution was established with the aim of providing on a non-profit basis the exercise of the right of the Croatian national minority to information in their mother tongue. The basic product of this institution is the weekly "Croatian Word" and so far, nearly 900 issues have been published. In addition, the institution publishes monthly subscriptions for children (Hrcko) and young people (Kužiš ?!), and since 2005 has been engaged in book publishing, with over 70 titles published so far.
