Sentence Calculator

Sentence Calculator computes an indicative proportional sentence and fine under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (India), as an aid for judges, prosecutors, defence counsel, and researchers.

CALCULATOR
Select a notified substance, enter the seized quantity and date, and get the proportional base sentence and fine across the small / intermediate / commercial quantity bands. Apply the Court's discretion (increase or decrease %) and tick the aggravating and mitigating factors that apply — the live report updates instantly and can be shared as a PDF.

COMPARISON
Build up to six scenarios — different substances, quantities, or discretion levels — and compare sentence and fine ranges side by side in table, chart, and 0–20-year spectrum views.

DOCUMENTS & SURVEY
Read the underlying methodology documents in-app, and optionally participate in a practitioner survey on factor weightings.

IMPORTANT
Computed values are an aid for legal practitioners. They are not decisive and do not replace the Court's independent reasoning. Conceived by Justice Anoop Chitkara; developed by de facto infotech.
