About Sunflower Wallpapers

Sunflower (Helianthus annuus) is a yellow-flowered agricultural plant grown for its seeds and oil from the daisy family (Asteraceae).

Sunflower requires a total temperature of around 2600-2850 °C during the growing period (100-150 days). Due to its deep and pile root system, it is highly resistant to drought. Early sowing significantly increases yields. Sunflower is resistant to cold and is generally not damaged from the first frost to the period of 4-6 leaves. However, it is highly affected by the frost that occurs when the temperature drops below -4 °C.

Sunflower removes large amounts of nutrients from the soil. For this reason, successive planting of sunflowers should be avoided. For this reason, wheat-sunflower rotation is generally applied.

The water requirement of the sunflower plant is approximately 700-800 mm during the growing period. For this reason, in order to get the high and desired yield, the difference between the years when the precipitation is low must be given with irrigation water in places suitable for irrigation. The water needs of plants in the soil are measured with a soil tension meter. The most sensitive period in sunflower is the period between the stage before flowering and the stage of milk production. The stress on water, which occurs in this period, causes irreversible losses inefficiency. This need for water, in particular, peaks at the time of flowering. Therefore, if there is no precipitation during these periods, the sunflower must be irrigated for high yields.
