cKom

cKom is a modern messaging app for direct messaging, group communication, and device-based accessibility. Designed for a self-hosted server, the app connects Android clients via HTTP and WebSocket, enabling fast message transmission and unambiguous device identification.

At its core is clear, simple communication between users and devices. cKom uses a persistent, locally stored device ID to allow the server to recognize each device. This results in more stable connections and more targeted message delivery.

Features:

- Direct messaging between users
- Group communication
- WebSocket connection for real-time communication
- HTTP interfaces for messages and server status
- Local device ID for client identification
- Background service for continuous availability
- Notifications for new messages
- Support for app relaunch after device restart
- Clean, modern Android interface

cKom is currently in alpha testing and is under active development. The goal is to provide an independent communication solution that is not reliant on large, external messaging platforms. The app is designed to enable secure communication, reliable delivery, group management, and a clean separation between client and server in the long term.

The current version is primarily intended for testing with your own cKom server. It is suitable for testing connections, message transmission, group functions, background services, and notifications.

Note:

cKom is an early test version. Features may change, be expanded, or technically modified.
