About Pipero: Pipe & Gas Calculator
Size a pipe, a gas line or a duct on site, then hand your customer a document instead of a screenshot.
Pipero is a field calculator for plumbers, gas fitters and HVAC installers. Fourteen calculators, and every one of them shows the standard it came from and the assumptions it made, so the number you write down is a number you can defend to an inspector.
WHAT IT CALCULATES
• Water pipe size. Flow velocity against distribution and fixture-branch limits (EN 806-3).
• Gas line size. Appliance power and run length in, recommended DN out, with the pressure drop for every candidate diameter (Renouard, natural gas).
• Duct sizing. Round diameter by velocity, or equivalent diameter and true velocity of a rectangular duct (Huebscher).
• Offset and fitting. Rolling offset travel and run at 22.5, 45 or 60 degrees, with your socket depth taken off.
• Pressure test. Test pressure, stabilization and hold time, plus a checklist that separates a real leak from a warming pipe (EN 806-4).
• Expansion vessel. Minimum vessel size for a closed heating circuit, and a warning when the pre-charge cannot hold the static height.
• System water volume. Pipe runs, boiler and radiators added up, feeding straight into the vessel calculation.
• Heat load. Room-by-room heat loss with fabric and ventilation split out (EN 12831, simplified).
• Pipe insulation. Required thickness by pipe size and location, scaled to your material's lambda.
• Booster pump and tank. Flow, head and tank volume for pre-sizing.
• Fixture unit sizing. Count the fixtures on the pipe and the code table gives the size (IPC Appendix E, NPC 2.6.3 in Canada).
• Drain, waste and vent. Drain and vent size from drainage fixture units, checked per branch interval and for the whole stack (IPC Chapter 7).
• Thermal expansion tank. Expansion tank for a closed water heater system, from water density and Boyle's law.
• Unit converter. mm/in, L/min/GPM, bar/psi, m3/h/CFM, C/F.
A NUMBER YOU CAN DEFEND
Anyone can print a figure. Pipero shows you where it came from.
Each calculator names the standard or the relation behind it. Where a value is a convention or could not be verified against a licensed table, the app says so on screen. Booster pump and tank carries unconfirmed coefficients, so it is free, badged as an estimate and blocked from PDF export. We would rather lose the sale than sign off a guess.
BUILT FOR THE SITE, NOT THE OFFICE
• Works fully offline. Every calculation runs on the device.
• Metric or imperial, switched any time. Inputs and results convert together.
• Nine languages: English, Turkish, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Polish and Dutch.
• Your history stays on the device unless you choose to sign in and sync.
• Pick your trade during setup and the right calculators come first.
PIPERO PRO
The calculators that matter most are free. Pro is for the moment you have to give someone a document.
• Branded PDF reports carrying your logo, license number and company details
• A project folder per job, with unlimited history
• Duct sizing, offsets, pressure test, insulation and expansion vessel
• Unlimited calculations, and no ads
Monthly or annual subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase.
IMPORTANT
Pipero is a calculation aid for qualified trades, not an engineering service. Every result must be verified by a licensed installer or engineer against the codes and site conditions that apply. Standard names identify the method a calculation follows; Pipero is not certified by, endorsed by or affiliated with any standards body.
WHICH COUNTRY'S RULES
Set your region in Settings; calculators follow that region's code. US: IFGC/NFPA 54 gas equation, IECC insulation table, IPC 312.5 and IFGC 406.4 tests, ASTM B88/F876/Schedule 40 pipe. Canada: NPC and NECB. Europe and Turkiye: EN 806, EN 12831/12828, Turkish gas rules, German GEG table. Offsets, ducts, volume, vessel: physics. No UPC, ASHRAE 90.1, Manual J. Every table is in Settings with its source.
