GTV Launcher

GTV Launcher gives you a calm, TV-style home screen that behaves the same whether you are holding a remote or a phone. No ads, no account.

YOUR APPS, ARRANGED YOUR WAY
• Group by category — apps fall into rows such as Entertainment, Games and Utilities, detected per app. One row per category, scroll up and down between them.
• Show as a grid — every app in one even grid, ordered by name.
• AppTV layout — a dock of six favourites on top and the rest in a grid below, in the style of a well-known set-top box.
• Pick how many columns you want: 4 to 7 on a TV, 2 or 3 on a phone.
• Drag a tile to move it, or hold OK on an app to file it under a different category.

APP TILES AND MOTION
• Banner or square icon tiles, several shapes and an adjustable corner radius.
• 20 motion effects for the selection frame — fade, zoom, 3D tilt, card flip, glow, neon border and more. A small thing you end up watching hundreds of times a day.

HIDE WHAT YOU NEVER OPEN
Switch off the apps you do not want on the home screen. They stay installed — they just stop taking up space.

LOCK PRIVATE APPS BEHIND A PIN
Set a 4-digit PIN and choose which apps need it. A locked app asks for the PIN before it opens from the home screen. You can be asked every time, or only once after the TV is switched on.

MAKE THE HOME SCREEN YOURS
The featured area at the top can show:
• Built-in photos and videos (from Pexels)
• Your own photos or a video, from the device gallery or sent from your phone
• App suggestions
• What is playing on your TV channels

SEND PHOTOS AND VIDEOS FROM YOUR PHONE
Scan the QR code on the TV, pick files on your phone, and they land on the TV over your home Wi-Fi. Nothing leaves your network.

SCREEN SAVER
After a stretch with no input, a photo slideshow, a video or a white-noise machine takes over, with the time in the corner. Choose how long to wait: 1, 3, 5, 10 or 15 minutes. The white-noise mixer lets you blend rain, fire, fan and other sounds into your own playlists.

CONTROL THE TV FROM YOUR PHONE
Install GTV Launcher on your phone too and use it as a remote for your Android TV: D-pad, keyboard input.

ABOUT PERMISSIONS
Reading the TV channel list is optional. It is used only to show what is playing on the home screen. The data stays on the device and is never sent anywhere. You can decline it and grant it later in Settings.

ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE API
GTV Launcher is a home screen app, not an accessibility tool for people with disabilities. Many TV boxes lock the Home button to the manufacturer's launcher, so GTV Launcher offers an optional accessibility service that uses the AccessibilityService API for two things only:
• Bring GTV Launcher back when you press Home
• Start GTV Launcher when the device is powered on
It only receives a notice when the manufacturer's launcher window comes to the front. It does not read the screen, other apps or anything you type, and no personal data is collected, stored or shared through it. Android shows a standard warning that the service can view and control the screen; GTV Launcher does not do that. On most phones, setting GTV Launcher as the default home app is enough and the service is not needed.
The service is off by default. GTV Launcher explains it and asks for your consent during setup and in Settings → Default launcher → Accessibility service, before opening Android's Accessibility settings. You can turn it off at any time there.
