Tumble Quest: Dice Board Race

Ember the dragon is guarding a pantry full of pie, and a goblin wants it first. Roll.

Tumble Quest is a cosy one-thumb dice board game. A winding road of tiles runs through a cartoon dungeon: a mushroom meadow, a goblin market, crystal caves, a bone garden, and the Dragon's Pantry at the end. You and a rival take turns rolling, hopping along the road, grabbing loot, dodging traps and duelling cute monsters with your dice. First one past the dragon wins the quest.

TWO DICE, ONE CHOICE
Every turn you roll two dice and pick the one you like: the two landing tiles light up on the board, so you always see where each die takes you. Or pay a little gold to sprint with both. Doubles roll again. Items work before or after the roll, so a Loaded Die, a pair of Boots or a Shield are real decisions, not luck.

TILES THAT DO THINGS
Coins, treasure chests (one in six is a mimic), pits, slime puddles, spider webs, ladders, slides, campfires, boulders, shops, mystery tiles and monster dens. Forced moves land too: slide into a trap into a monster, and the whole chain plays out.

GOLD IS YOUR LIFE
Gold buys items, pays the troll at the bridge (can't pay? You tumble all the way home), tempts you at the wishing well, and decides clashes: land on your rival and the richer purse rolls with +1. The winner takes a cut of the loser's gold and throws them back to the start. Hoard it or spend it; every shop is a decision.

DICE DUELS
Slimes, goblins, bats, skeletons, a mimic in a chest. Realm gates are guarded by bosses: the Big Mushroom Knight, the Goblin Boss, the Crystal Golem, the Pumpkin King. Ember the dragon needs two wins to beat, and gets a little more tired every time you lose.

FIVE HEROES, FOUR RIVALS
• Pip the Knight, Fern the Ranger, Wick the Wizard, Bramble the Barbarian, Lumi the Cleric, each with a small perk
• Grub the Goblin, Rattles the Skeleton, Gloop the Slime and Hazel the Witch play against you, and get cleverer as the chapters go on
