About Duel.com
You settle at a corner table in the café. The gingham cloth is covered in a muddle of yarn, strands criss-crossing between soft woollen balls, and on the edge of the table a ginger kitten follows every move you make with very round eyes.
THE PUZZLE
Drag the yarn balls around the table until no two strands cross. Teacup saucers are fixed in place, so you work the rest of the skein around them. Par is one move per ball plus one for every pounce, and finishing within it earns three stars.
THE KITTEN
Every few moves she pounces and bats one ball somewhere new, tangling it all over again. Watch for the wiggle: when her bottom starts to wiggle, your next move ends with a pounce. Each skein comes with three treats, and feeding her one sends her off for a nap through her next turn.
THREE ROOMS, THREE CATS
The Window Seat belongs to sleepy Mochi, who pounces every six moves. Curious Pepper in the Reading Nook strikes every five, and wild Biscuit on the Rooftop Terrace every four. Ten skeins wait in each room, and untangling seven opens the next.
COUNTER AND SCRAPBOOK
Every skein pays beans. Spend them at the Counter on yarn colours such as Matcha Latte and Rainbow Sprinkles, toys like the Toy Mouse and Fish Biscuit, and table cloths from Mint Gingham to Oak Table. Each untangled skein adds a polaroid to your Scrapbook, and the Diary keeps your stats alongside a book of twelve stickers.
Then there is the Daily Special: a fresh skein served every day with the bake of the day, from Monday Muffin to Sunday Pancake. It pays 45 beans, and dropping by again tomorrow keeps your streak growing, with a Regular sticker waiting for three days in a row. Pull up a chair each morning; the kitten will be keeping your seat warm.
