Eat sweets to grow. Cut in front of a rival so they crash into your body. Stay out of everybody else's way while you do it. Wormix.io takes a minute to pick up and a long time to get good at — there are twenty-six worms in the arena and only one of them is you.

HOW IT PLAYS

Steer with your finger, or switch to a floating joystick in the menu. Hold BOOST to sprint.

Your head is the only part of you that can be killed. Bodies are lethal to everyone except their owner, and that is the whole game: drive into somebody and you pop, cut across them and they do.

Meet another worm face to face and it comes down to angles. Whoever is struck closest to the centre of their own face is the one that bursts — so ramming somebody head-on loses, unless they happen to be looking straight back at you.

Boosting burns your own mass and drops it behind you in a trail, so every sprint is a real trade rather than a free button.

THE ARENA IS NOT A PUSHOVER

The other worms are opponents, not scenery. Each one simulates its own body down eleven possible headings before committing to a turn, works out who would lose a face-off before starting it, hunts anything smaller than itself by aiming where you are going instead of where you are, and saves its boost for a kill. Drive carelessly and you will last seconds. Pay attention and you will get a proper run.

EAT, GROW, SPEND

DRESS THE WORM

Coins are earned by playing and buy skins, helmets, glasses and wigs. Sixty-eight country flags repeat along the length of your worm, so the longer you grow the more of them you fly. The rarest skins are bought with diamonds.
