Logbuoy: Dive Log & Gear

Logbuoy is the ultimate solution to consolidating your dive logs, equipment history, and certifications all in one place that you control.

Most dive apps log the dive and stop there. Your service stickers and your cert cards end up in a drawer at home, which is no help at all on a dock in Bali.

DIVES
Log your depth, time, temperature, site, buddy, kit and notes. Entry is quick, and you can carry details across from your last dive if you want to. Photos attach to the dive and are copied in, so they stay with the record. Prefer to import from your dive computer? No problem. We have you covered.

GEAR
Service intervals in months or in dives, whichever falls due first. Log what the shop did and what it cost, photograph each item, record what you paid, then produce the gear list your insurer asks for.

CERTIFICATION CARDS
Agency, course, number, date and instructor, with a photo of the card itself. When a dive centre asks for your number and you have no signal, it is right there in your pocket.

WHAT THE UNLOCK COVERS
We want you to try the product before buying. Leave it clean or import your existing records. Either way, the first ten dives you type in are yours to start with. (Dives you import from a file do not count towards the trial limit.) One purchase opens unlimited dive entry, the gear locker and your certification cards, and everything already in your logbook stays readable and exportable whether or not you buy.

Purchasing means you get a fully unlocked version of Logbuoy and, in return, you help support ongoing Logbuoy development and the creation of new features. We're not a large company, so your financial support goes a long way.

YOUR LOGBOOK STAYS WITH YOU
Your logbook is a plain database file sitting on your phone. Logbuoy keeps dated backups, and you can restore any of them yourself from inside the app. WE DO NOT KEEP ANY OF YOUR RECORDS. For extra safety in case you lose your phone, we highly recommend you periodically send a copy to your own Drive, Dropbox or inbox. If you have not done this and your phone is lost, all your data goes with it.

BRING THE LOGBOOK YOU ALREADY HAVE
Import UDDF or CSV, including files other people's software wrote. Messy column names, imperial units and older UDDF all read fine, and your depth profiles come across with the dives.

GET YOUR DIVES BACK OUT
Export the whole logbook as UDDF or CSV, the formats other dive software reads. Everything comes out, right down to the profiles.

YOUR PROFILE, ON THE DIVE
If your dive computer can export a file, Logbuoy reads the profile out of it and draws it. Anything your computer worked out is shown exactly as it recorded it, with the device's name against it.

SITES YOU CAN FIND AGAIN
Country and region come from a built-in list, so the same reef gets filed the same way every time. Take the GPS coordinates from your phone, type them in, or leave them off. Search across sites, buddies and notes.

NO COVERAGE, NO PROBLEM
Logging, reading, importing, exporting and restoring all work with the phone in flight mode. Two things use a connection, and only when you ask for them: looking up the place name for a coordinate, and sending a backup somewhere.

ON A TABLET
The layout adapts. Navigation moves to a rail down the side and the logbook shows more dives at once.

A NOTE ON SAFETY
Logbuoy remembers your dives, but is not a dive planning tool. Logbuoy will not work out a surface interval, a no-fly time, decompression or gas. That is what your dive computer, your tables and your training are for. What you import, you see: if your computer worked a number out, Logbuoy shows it exactly as recorded and leaves it alone.
