Moomchit — A Spending Record Captured in Photos
A spending record that captures the scene along with a single photo
Have you ever started writing a household ledger but stopped?
It was likely because recalling past spending, entering it, and selecting the categories was a hassle.
Moomchit starts with a single photo.
You record based on a photo taken right there on the spot—a meal with a friend, a date spot, or coffee on your way to work.
■ Recording is done with just three things
One photo, one amount, and one tag.
Even if you look back later, the scene of that day remains with you.
On days without photos, you can use your own pictures (memes, etc.) or leave a record using only text.
It’s okay if you couldn’t record it at the time of consumption. If you press [+] next to the date on the timeline, we will gather and show you only the photos taken that day.
■ Focusing on what kind of spending it was, rather than how much was spent
Moomchit tags are divided into three categories.
· Purpose — Meal, Cafe, Alcohol, Snack, Delivery, Daily Necessities, Transportation, Taxi…
· Context — Alone, with friends, with a partner, with family, with colleagues, working overtime, on the way to work, weekends, spending for myself
· Means — Credit card, debit card, mobile payment, cash, automatic transfer
If you only record what you spent it on, the record ends with "50,000 won on gifts."
If you also record who you were with, you can see scenarios like "I spend more on gifts when I'm with family during the holidays."
As data accumulates, it reveals how much your spending differs when you are alone versus with others, whether it is concentrated on weekends or scattered throughout the week, and patterns of your spending that you were previously unaware of.
If the tags you need are not in the default list, you can create and use them yourself.
■ Review accumulated records in various ways.
· Photo Album — Photos are saved by tag, allowing you to see spending scenes by tag at a glance.
· Timeline — You can view what you bought on each day in chronological order.
· Calendar — You can view the amount and flow by date on the calendar.
· Dashboard — Shows how this month is divided by purpose, context, and means. · Recap — You can review your past records and mark whether you were satisfied or disappointed.
· Spare Money — We calculate the amount of money you can spend right now based on your usage tags.
It becomes a record that you can look back on, rather than just accumulating numbers.
■ Record Faster, Feel More Like Your Own
· Bought the Same Thing Again Today — This feature allows you to record frequently used items with a single touch. You can see the previous amount and the number of times it was recorded; selecting an item takes you to a record screen filled with the photo, amount, expense name, and tags exactly as they were.
· Photo Stickers — You can add stickers to your photos. You can upload images you have collected to use your own custom stickers. You can organize your personal sticker collection by naming sticker packs.
■ How to Review Your Spending Outside the App
You can export your records as a file in Settings.
The tag names are included, so details such as what you spent it on, who you spent it with, and how you spent it are read exactly as they are.
The saved files can be used for various purposes, such as backups and analysis.
■ We Don't Tell You to Cut Back
There are no budgets, goals, or warning notifications.
We don't mark your spending in red if you overspend, nor do we praise you for saving.
This app's job is simply to show you the details;
It is up to the user to decide whether the record is okay or not.
■ Features That Appear as You Use It
· Installments — Divided by months to make monthly expenses
· Recurring Expenses — Monthly payments like subscription fees or insurance premiums
· Split Payment — Only the amount you split becomes your expense
· Get Refunds — Reflects money received from others who paid on your behalf
■ Records Are Stored Only on This Device
There is no membership registration, and records are not sent to a server.
Therefore, when you change devices, you can save your photos using "Create Full Backup File" in Settings, and then transfer them exactly as they are on your new device using "Restore from Backup File."
Since keeping a record is difficult until it becomes a habit, we have made it as lightweight as possible so that a single photo might make you pause.
