About Power Saver

With this app you avoid having to switch off the wifi and bluetooth radios when you're not using your device, by switching them off for you. They are enabled again when the screen next comes on.

Why?
The utility that was developed out of a wish to not have to manually switch these settings off in order to save power, when not using a phone or tablet. In tests the reduction in battery drain is up to 50%. A bit like the "Keep Wifi On During Sleep" option you may have - but supports Bluetooth also, and presents stats on your battery savings. (Also useful for family members you may know who don't like touching system settings, but experience fast battery drain because they leave BT and Wifi on)

Usage
Leave the PowerSaver app running, with the saving options enabled, to achieve maximum power savings. Press the power button to put the device into standby (screen lock). There is no service in the app, so if you quit the app it stops the power-saving completely. When you next use the device the amount of charge used while in standby is shown, in a growing table of stats.
If wifi and bluetooth are not on anyway at the time of going into standby - the PowerSaver has no effect, and leaves those settings unchanged.

Warnings
On a wifi-only device you wont get push notifications waking up the device if you're using the PowerSaver (unless another app turns wifi on again while in standby). The app uses deprecated APIs, meaning eventually this app wont be available in its current form in the app store.

Your Mileage May Vary
Other apps may cause inconsistent results for you, for example by switching the wifi back on in the background, or running any number of other power hungry tasks, suck as location services. If you have many other apps open as well, then power drain will always take a bigger hit. The extent of the hit will depend on how those apps were written.

Although newer versions of Android have advanced power-saving techniques such as "Doze" and "Standby" this app can still prove useful in reducing battery drain. Older versions of Android are supported, where the benefits could be much greater.
