Relay: Share Between Devices

Send files from your phone to your computer, and from your computer to your phone, in seconds. Relay is a fast, private way to transfer files, share photos and videos, and sync your clipboard between your own devices over your Wi-Fi. No account, no cable, no cloud upload, and no internet connection needed.

Tired of emailing files to yourself, or messaging photos to your own chat just to get them onto your laptop? Relay connects your Android phone to your Windows PC, Mac or Linux computer once, and from then on they work as one.

COPY ON ONE, PASTE ON THE OTHER
Universal clipboard between phone and PC. Copy text, a link, a screenshot or a whole file on your computer and paste it straight onto your phone. Going the other way, tap "Send clipboard" in the Quick Settings tile or Relay's notification (Android only lets the app in front read what you copied), or select any text and choose Relay from the menu.

SEND ANY FILE, ANY SIZE
Photos, videos, PDFs, documents, music, APKs, whole folders. Wireless file transfer at the full speed of your Wi-Fi, with no size limit and no compression, so photos and videos arrive in their original quality. Share to Relay from any app's share menu.

DRAG AND DROP FROM PC TO PHONE
On your computer, drag a file to the drop shelf at the edge of the screen and drop it on your phone. It arrives ready to open.

YOUR DEVICES WORK AS ONE
Once two devices are paired, they trust each other. Nothing to accept, no codes to type: what one sends, the other simply receives. Relay reconnects by itself whenever your devices are nearby, and can start automatically when your phone restarts.

WORKS WITHOUT INTERNET
Relay talks directly between devices on the same Wi-Fi network. No Wi-Fi around? Turn on your phone's hotspot and connect your laptop to it. Mobile data is never used for transfers.

PRIVATE AND SECURE BY DESIGN
Every connection is end-to-end encrypted with TLS, directly between your devices. Pairing is confirmed by checking that both screens show the same three shapes, so only devices you approve can connect. Nothing is uploaded to a server, there is no account to create, and there are no ads. Optional anonymous statistics are off unless you turn them on.

Phone to phone, phone to PC, PC to phone and PC to PC all work the same way. The computer apps are free from the Relay website, and Relay is open source under the Apache 2.0 licence.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Install Relay on two devices.
2. Put them on the same Wi-Fi.
3. Pick the other device, check the shapes match, and confirm. Done for good.
