Trailcall: Walkie Talkie

Trailcall turns your phone into an offline walkie talkie. Hold the big button, talk, and the nearby phones on your channel hear you through the loudspeaker. No internet, no cellular network, no account.

How it works
Phones connect directly to each other over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. There is no server in between and nothing to sign up for. Pick a channel, share it with your group and push to talk (PTT). Up to 8 phones can share a channel.

An honest word about range
Trailcall is a short-range Bluetooth walkie talkie. Expect roughly 30–100 m in open terrain. Trees, rocks, slopes and walls shorten that. It is not a long-range radio, and it does not replace a real radio or emergency equipment. It is made for groups that stay close together but are out of earshot or out of coverage.

Free features
• Unlimited push to talk: no quota and no daily time limit (a single transmission lasts up to 60 seconds)
• Channels 1–16
• Optional 4-digit group PIN: only phones with the same channel and PIN hear each other
• List of connected people with signal-quality bars
• Compass showing magnetic north
• QR invite: others scan it to join the same channel
• Works with the screen off, with an ongoing notification
• Sound comes from the loudspeaker
• Big talk button you can use with gloves
• Screen lock against accidental touches
• Optional talk with the volume key
• Roger beep
• Dark theme
• Turkish, English, German, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese

The free version shows ads: a banner on the main screen, and a full-screen ad only when you leave a channel, at most once every 5 minutes and never while you are talking or listening. Ads need internet; the walkie talkie does not.

Trailcall Plus
Available as a yearly subscription or as a one-time lifetime purchase.
• No ads
• Mark a point with GPS and walk back to it with the compass: distance and direction, up to 5 points. GPS works without internet.
• 99 channels and a 6-digit PIN
• Replay the last 20 received messages

Privacy
No server, no account. Your voice travels only between the phones on your channel and is not recorded on any server. The last 20 messages kept for replay stay on your device.

Who it is for
Hiking groups, camping, festivals, ski and bike groups, groups walking in a column, families in a park, hunting parties: anyone who drifts up to a hundred metres apart and wants a quick word without relying on coverage.

Please note
Trailcall is not for emergencies. Where your safety depends on communication, carry a real radio or proper emergency equipment.
