About Vipera: Mobile Security

Vipera is a private, no-signup antivirus for Android. It finds malware using YARA rules, multi-cloud reputation lookups, ML classification and an OpenCode Zen second-opinion verifier — then explains every finding in plain language. No account, no email, no analytics, no third-party data sharing beyond the hashes threat-intel feeds need.

WHAT VIPERA SCANS
• Every file on /sdcard when you grant all-files access (Play-approved for AV use cases).
• Every installed app on every scan, including new installs caught by App Shield.
• APK/PE/DEX payloads in downloaded files and sideloaded apps.
• Real-time monitoring of downloads and new installs through File Guard and App Shield.

WHAT VIPERA SENDS OFF DEVICE
For each flagged file, Vipera submits only its MD5 + SHA-256 hashes to bundled threat-intel providers — VirusTotal, AlienVault OTX, URLhaus, ThreatFox, Google Safe Browsing, Koodous. A second-opinion verifier (OpenCode Zen) gets the file path plus, when needed, a numeric feature vector and up to 8 KB of header strings. No file contents are uploaded. No personal data is collected. No analytics SDK runs in the app.

PRIVACY POSTURE
• No account, no email, no phone number, no contacts, no location.
• Scan history written to your device is yours alone — uninstalling Vipera erases it.
• Privacy policy documents every permission and every outbound request in plain language.

PERMISSIONS, BRIEFLY
• Storage / all-files access: Play-approved for AV use cases. Required for /sdcard scans. You can keep Vipera in installed-apps-only mode by revoking access in Android Settings.
• Notifications: heads-up alert when App Shield flags a new install. Optional.
• Foreground service: real-time scans and file monitoring. Required if File Guard is on.
• Battery optimization exemption: scheduled scans run uninterrupted. First cold launch explains why.

Vipera Free includes real-time monitoring, manual scans, App Shield, File Guard and the OpenCode Zen verifier. Vipera Pro adds:
