About The Light

The Light is a comprehensive study program intended for the youths to learn and understand the Quran by developing a simple yet effective habit of reading the Tafsir (exegesis) of the Holy Quran. By using this app, an individual can read the Tafsir at his/her own pace and attempt the questionnaires provided for each module.

To understand the Quran and ponder upon the beautiful revelations of Allah, knowing the explanation and the context of each ayah is essential. A Tafsir fulfills that very purpose; by reading it a person can better his/her understanding of Islam and bring them closer to Allah, to benefit them here in this life and the hereafter inshaAllah.

There is a famous saying that "Little drops of water make up the mighty ocean." To many, reading an entire Tafsir completely seems like covering the ocean. The thought about reading multiple huge volumes and the lack of time to do so discourage and de-motivate a person from even attempting to start reading the Tafsir. This study program breaks down the 10 volumes of the widely accepted English Tafsir - Ibn Kathir into little drops, i.e. into small modules which shall be released bimonthly with questionnaires. The questionnaire is prepared in such a way that the person will have read the complete module to answer all the questions. By providing regular follow-up, motivation, and encouragement, we hope that a person can complete reading the entire Tafsir from cover to cover in 5 years’ time InshaAllah.
