Vadose is the notebook you keep for that world — a quiet ledger for everyone who squeezes through crawls, rigs a pitch, and comes back up with numbers worth remembering. It reads like the waterproof pad in your oversuit pocket: monospaced figures, blunt grey panels, one strip of lamp-green marking the depth you reached. Nothing glows, nothing chatters. It simply holds the trip until you are warm enough to write it down properly.
Every underground day becomes a record: the cave, the entrance, hours below, the temperature at the bottom, the water you met, the state you came out in. Caves you visit build into a system list with their own totals, and the Kit bench keeps your rigging and lighting sorted so nothing is left in the car. The Leg Tape is the heart of it — enter bearing, tape length and inclination for each leg of passage and watch the run and the drop add themselves up, the phone's compass handing you the bearing when you point it down the passage. Everything is stored on the handset, works far from any signal, and stays exactly where you left it.
