Vaara: Panchang & Horoscope

Your day, read the way the panchang reads it: from your Moon, your birth star and today's sky.

Vaara is a Vedic astrology app that starts your day at local sunrise instead of midnight.

A REAL CHART, NOT A SUN-SIGN GUESS

Give your name, your birth date and place, and your birth time if you have it. Vaara computes a sidereal kundli with the official Lahiri ayanamsa and Whole Sign houses, and your full Vimshottari Dasha. If your birth time is unknown, it says which parts depend on it and restores them when you add one.

YOUR DAY, EVERY MORNING

A reading made for your chart and today: where the Moon is from your Moon sign, your tara from your birth star, what today's star suits, and a plain verdict for the day.

Festivals and fasts with their times for your city: Ekadashi and the parana window, Pradosh, Sankashti, Pitru Paksha, Navaratri with Ghatasthapana, Diwali and more.

Cautions said in words: Bhadra, Vaidhriti and Vyatipata, Chandrashtama. Rahu Kaal, Abhijit and a good choghadiya; Varjyam, Durmuhurtam and Amrit Kalam for Tamil and Telugu readers.

A colour for the day and a journal; with a subscription, a short daily ritual and what to wear.

In English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

YOUR KUNDLI

North Indian, South Indian or wheel chart, with your lagna, nakshatra and pada.

Free and dated: whether you are in Sade Sati or Dhaiya and until when, Mangal dosha counted the way Parashara counts and the way panchangs do, and Kaal Sarp, labelled as the later tradition it is.

With a subscription: what these mean for your chart, from Parashara and Phaladeepika, your navamsa (D9), and the mantra, fast and donation customs for the day.

YOUR PERIOD

Your Mahadasha and Antardasha with their dates, and, with a subscription, what Parashara says of the pairing for your chart, with the upay he names.

COMPATIBILITY

Ashta Koota read from the bride's Moon to the groom's, as the family astrologer does, with Mangal dosha for both. It is a traditional score, not a prediction, and it is for two adults. Comparing two of your charts comes with the unlock, the trial or a subscription; a single match with someone else can be bought on its own and stays on your phone.

HOW THE READINGS ARE MADE

Based on the Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra of Maharishi Parashara, with the panchang on Lahiri, the ayanamsa of India's official Rashtriya Panchang. Each reading is put together from lines written and reviewed by people before release, chosen by the positions on the day. Nothing is generated while you wait. Dates and times are checked against published panchangs.

Jyotish here is the tradition's reading, stated plainly. This app does not promise a job, a marriage, wealth or the removal of any obstacle. Mantras, fasts and donations are described as the tradition describes them, with no effect claimed.

WHAT IS NOT IN THIS VERSION

No muhurat calendar and no browsable panchang calendar. No nakshatra reference library.

PRIVACY AND YOUR DATA

Birth details stay on your phone; we ask for your agreement in one line before your chart is computed, and the privacy policy says the rest. Export and delete are self-serve, deletion purges every computed chart, and neither is gated on your subscription.

SUBSCRIPTION

The daily reading's first part, today's panchang line, your kundli with its Sade Sati and dosha status, the colour and your journal cost nothing. A subscription adds the full reading, the daily ritual and wear guidance, your period, the explanations, the navamsa, remedies, today's full panchang, period notifications and a second chart. Every subscription opens with a 7-day free trial. Price, trial length and renewal terms are shown before you are charged, and you can cancel any time in Google Play. There are no ads in this app.
