BagPass: Checked Bag Proof

Criminals have swapped baggage tags to smuggle drugs, using innocent travelers' bags.

After you check a bag and walk away, a corrupt ramp worker can move your barcoded tag onto a drug-filled suitcase. Travelers have been detained abroad, sometimes in countries where trafficking carries severe penalties. It has happened to people with no idea anything was wrong until they landed.

Security experts recommend photographing your bag and its tag at check-in. That is exactly what BagPass does, in about two minutes.

WHAT YOU CAPTURE

BagPass walks you through the three photos that matter, before your bag goes behind the counter:

Your bag, exactly as you handed it over
The baggage tag the airline attached, with its barcode
The weight on the counter scale

Every photo is stamped with the time and your GPS location, and stored with your flight details: airline, flight number, route, and bag tag number.

BagPass needs location access to create a record. Without it, your photos cannot prove where the bag was handed over, which is the part that matters.

WHY A PHONE PHOTO IS NOT ENOUGH

A photo in your camera roll has no verifiable time or location. And if you are detained, your phone is usually the first thing confiscated. Evidence that exists only on your phone disappears with it.

BagPass keeps an encrypted record with full GPS and time. With a subscription, it is backed up to the cloud, so your proof survives even if your phone does not.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

No account. No sign up. No email address. BagPass sets everything up automatically the first time you open it. Your records are encrypted on your device, and stay there unless you choose to back them up.

You can lock BagPass behind your fingerprint or face.

PLANS

Capture and keep records on your phone for free. Add encrypted cloud backup with a 7 day pass for a single trip, or a monthly or yearly plan if you fly often.

BagPass is not an insurance product and does not process claims or provide legal advice. It is a tool for creating a timestamped record of the bag you checked in.
