Intro: Caller ID & Screening

I built Intro after a scam caller tricked my father into sharing a one-time password (OTP) and stole his money. That experience inspired Intro: an Android caller ID and call-screening app that helps you decide which incoming calls to trust.

CALLER ID AND INCOMING CALL SCREENING
Intro's main purpose is to identify and screen incoming phone calls. After you select Intro as your caller ID and spam app in Android, it checks incoming numbers against your trusted contacts, calling preferences and available caller information. Depending on your screening mode and the result, a call is allowed or blocked. Caller information and screening explanations help you understand the decision.

The feature runs when a phone call arrives, including while you are outside Intro. The app's screens let you configure screening and review its results.

AI-ASSISTED SPAM DETECTION
Intro combines AI-assisted spam assessment with trust signals and available caller or business information to help assess unfamiliar numbers. Names, badges and other caller details appear when available. An unknown number may remain unidentified, and a screening result is not a guarantee that a caller is safe.

CHOOSE HOW OPEN YOU WANT TO BE
In Settings > Call Screening Mode, choose:
- Safety: stricter screening of unknown callers.
- Alert: cautious screening with support for legitimate follow-up calls.
- Social: more open to potential personal connections.
- Business: more open to unfamiliar professional callers.

In Settings > Call blocking, "Allow all calls" turns blocking off. Add expected callers to your trusted contacts (whitelist), and manage business calling preferences to suit your needs.

SEE WHAT HAPPENED
Open Call History after a call to review the number, available caller details and screening explanation. Call-log access supports call history and screening checks based on previous calls, such as earlier outgoing, rejected or blocked calls.

SET UP INTRO
1. Sign in or register and complete the in-app setup.
2. In Android, choose Intro as the default caller ID and spam app and enable the requested call-screening access.
3. Allow display over other apps to see caller information during incoming calls.
4. Select your screening mode. Keep "Allow all calls" off when you want blocking.
5. Receive an incoming phone call to see screening in action, then review Call History.

Screening requires active account access. You can check your subscription status in Settings. Intro is designed primarily for Android users in India; caller and business information depends on available coverage.

BUILD YOUR TRUSTED CIRCLE
Manage trusted contacts, follow relevant badges and review introduction requests. If you are expecting an important unfamiliar caller, add the number to your whitelist, choose a more open mode or enable "Allow all calls."
