Parental Controls: TapGuardian

Tap Guardian is a parental control app that helps you manage your family's screen time from your own phone. Set daily limits, block distracting apps, and schedule bedtime or school hours that run on their own. One account covers every child's device, including a mix of Android and iPhone.

What you can do:

Daily screen time limits
Set a healthy amount of time for each day. Tap Guardian keeps track and steps in when the time is up.

App and category blocking
Pause a single app or a whole group like games, social, or video with one tap. Turn it back on just as easily.

Bedtime and school schedules
Set quiet hours for bedtime and focus hours for school once, and let them run on their own every week.

Tasks and rewards
Give your kids tasks to complete and reward them with extra time. Streaks and small wins make good habits feel earned.

Location and Safety Zones
See where your family members are, and get a notification when someone arrives at or leaves a place like home or school.

One simple dashboard
Manage every device from one clear view. Changes sync in the background, so what you set is what happens.

Why parents like Tap Guardian:
Quick to set up
Clean, calm design
Visible on the device, never hidden
Built for real family routines

How Tap Guardian works on your child's device

Tap Guardian is a parental control and monitoring app. You set it up on your own phone and on your child's device. On that device it monitors activity so that you can manage it, including which apps are opened and for how long, and the device's location. Tap Guardian is not a hidden or secret monitoring tool. It keeps its own icon on the device and shows a notification whenever it is running.

Use of the Accessibility service (Android)

Tap Guardian uses Android's Accessibility service to enforce the rules you set. It returns the device to the home screen the moment a blocked app is opened, and it blocks websites on your blocklist when a browser is in use.

To do this it reads only the name of the app currently in use and, in a browser, the address shown in the address bar, which it checks against your blocklist as the page is opened. It does not read page content, messages, or passwords. It does not read anything from other apps, and it does not collect or store browsing history.

The app explains this on the device and asks the person using it to accept or decline before the service is turned on. Tap Guardian works without it, with website filtering switched off.
