About Surround
Surround is a quiet, thoughtful board game built around one clear idea: surround a line of opposing pieces, then turn them to your side.
Play a complete 8x8 match in five to fifteen minutes. Choose a local rules opponent or pass the device between two players. Three solo approaches offer distinct priorities: Beginner values immediate flips, Steady protects edges, and Advanced weighs corners, mobility, and the endgame count. These are local rule strategies, not claims of intelligence or guaranteed wins.
The table keeps the important information close at hand:
Legal move markers, current turn, both counts, and the most recent placement
Automatic passes when a side has no legal move
One-round undo in solo play, with undo disabled for fair local two-player matches
A result review with the recorded moves, largest flip swing, and corner ownership
When you want focused practice, browse 30 endgame exercises with goals such as claiming a corner, limiting mobility, or leading after a set number of turns. A built-in guide demonstrates surrounding a line, flipping in multiple directions, and handling a pass.
Adjust legal move markers and flip motion in Preferences. Light and dark piece faces use both texture and symbols so the board stays readable. Your preferences, progress, and local game records remain on the device. No account, network connection, chat, advertising, payments, or rankings are required.
