Subsonic Player

Subsonic Player is an Android music player built and tested specifically for Navidrome. It gives you fast, convenient access to your personal music library on your phone, tablet, and through Android Auto.

Android Auto

Take your Navidrome library with you on the road. Subsonic Player integrates directly with Android Auto, using an interface designed by Google for safe use while driving.

You can:

- Browse albums and genres
- Open your favorites and playlists
- Play complete albums and playlists
- Access the current playback queue
- Listen to internet radio stations stored on your Navidrome server
- Play, pause, skip, go back, and seek within a track
- Control playback using your car controls

Playback started from Android Auto stays synchronized with the app on your phone.

Multi-server support

Connect multiple Navidrome servers and access their music libraries from one app. Browse, search, play, and manage music across your configured servers without repeatedly signing out or changing accounts.

Built for Navidrome

Connect the app to your own Navidrome server and access your personal collection wherever you are. Your server address and account credentials are stored securely on your device.

Music playback

Playback continues when the screen is off or the app is running in the background. You can control it from the lock screen, notification panel, headphones, Android Auto, and other devices using standard Android media controls.

The player includes:

- Play, pause, next, and previous controls
- Precise waveform seeking
- Shuffle
- Repeat one and repeat all
- A synchronized playback queue
- Play Now, Play Next, and Add to Queue actions
- Background playback
- Album artwork and track information

Playlists and favorites

Create and manage your Navidrome playlists directly from the app. Add individual songs or multiple selected tracks, remove songs from playlists, and mark songs or albums as favorites.

Synced lyrics

Synced lyrics are displayed in time with the music when they are available. Lyrics are matched using track metadata and duration, with support for common formats including MP3, FLAC, and Opus.

Tap the lyrics to open a larger, distraction-free view while the song continues playing.

Offline listening

Download songs or complete albums to your device and listen without an internet connection. Offline music can be managed from a dedicated downloads screen.

Internet radio

Browse and play internet radio stations configured on your Navidrome server. Radio playback works in the phone app, in the background, and through Android Auto.

Designed for phones and tablets

The interface adapts to different screen sizes and orientations. On larger displays, the player provides additional space for the queue, album browser, artwork, artist information, clock, and optional local weather.

Light and dark themes are available, and the interface follows your selected appearance throughout the app.

Listening statistics

View an overview of your Navidrome library and listening activity, including frequently played songs, albums, artists, genres, favorites, and library size.

Requirements

Subsonic Player requires access to your own Navidrome server. The app does not provide music, a Navidrome account, or server hosting.
