StoryTourist

Award-winning StoryTourist offers a tourism experience where books, films and other stories come to life, turning the world around you into a playground for the imagination. Imagine solving crimes with Sherlock Holmes in London, exploring the deep sea with The Little Mermaid in Copenhagen, or stepping into Hjalmar Söderberg’s Stockholm.

The StoryTourist app makes all this possible by offering self-guided walking tours based on famous stories. When you embark on a StoryTour, you will experience the narrative in the very spot where the action takes place. The app uses GPS to guide you from one place to another, and once you get there an interaction will be triggered to pop up on your mobile phone screen. Depending on the story, it can be anything from old images of what this spot used to look like, to sounds, puzzles or animations that will tie reality and story together.

Through the StoryTourist app you will be able to find out what your favourite fictional places look, smell and sound like.

StoryTours are perfect for:

* Travellers who’d like to go sightseeing in an immersive and flexible manner.
* Anyone who enjoys audio books and sometimes wish they could step inside the story
they are listening to.
* Puzzle game lovers and fans of escape rooms.
* Residents who wish to discover a story hidden in their own city.
* Families or friends looking for a fun activity to do together.

There are many reasons to take a StoryTour:

* It is an affordable option to other guided tours. No tipping or additional costs!
* It is 100% flexible; you can start, pause and end the tour whenever it suits you.
* There is no need to keep up with a tour guide, our GPS-based map function and the
narrator of the tour will be your personal guide, allowing you to walk at your own pace.
* You don’t have to walk around in a group if you don’t want to, the tours are perfect to take
alone, with a friend or with your whole family.
* StoryTours contain immersive interactions that traditional tours don’t have; you can solve
intricate puzzles, trigger sounds and animations and search for clues in your immediate
surroundings!

Download the StoryTourist app, select a story in the city you are in and start your adventure! The app guides you in the right direction and when you reach the various storypoints, the part of the narrative that is set in that location will be unlocked. In other words, you will have one foot in the story and the other in reality.

The app requires GPS to work. For the best possible listening experience, bring headphones.
