Star Expedition is an app that allows users to learn about stars within 100 light-years from Earth that have confirmed terrestrial planets in their habitable zones and the confirmed potentially habitable terrestrial planets that orbit them and communicate with others about them or topics that involve them.

Star Expedition has features that can allow users to do a variety of tasks. These can help people in not just the pursue of their hobbies, but also any tasks or assignments they have to do, especially if it is in an academic or scientific setting. Here is a list of features that are present in Star Expedition:

1. Star and Planet Articles: Articles about stars and planets allow users to not only learn certain characteristics about them, but also read more about them from other sources (URL links and PDF files).

2. Conversion Calculator: This allows users to convert from one unit of temperature or length to another.

3. Discussion Board: The discussion board allows users to communicate with others about certain topics regarding the search for life in nearby exoplanets. The content in the discussion board will be moderated. There are six subforums that users can post threads and replies in:
o Discussion Board Updates: This subforum allows users to communicate with others about updates that are occurring in the discussion board.
o Questions and Answers: This is the subforum where users can ask certain questions if they are uncertain about certain topics regarding stars and exoplanets and answer questions if they are familiar or have knowledge of those topics.
o Technologies: The Technologies subforum allows users to talk or discuss about technologies involved in contributing to the search for life in exoplanets and the discovery of nearby stars with confirmed terrestrial planets in their habitable zones and terrestrial exoplanets.
o Projects: The Projects subforum lets users post about any projects they are working on that involve the search for life in exoplanets, receive advice and/or feedback about their projects, and give advice and/or feedback to other users about other projects.
o New Discoveries: If there is a new nearby star with confirmed terrestrial planets in its habitable zone and/or a terrestrial exoplanet that is discovered, users can post threads and/or replies related to them on this subforum.
o Feedback and Suggestions: The Feedback and Suggestions subforum is where users can give any constructive feedback and/or suggestions they have about Star Expedition and provide their thoughts on the feedback and/or suggestions that other users have given. This allows Star Expedition to learn what it can do better as an app so it can be more helpful and better able to meet the needs of users.

4. Star/Planet Tracker: Users can track certain stars or planets they are interested in and explain why they are interested in them. Users can track up to three stars and three planets. If one sees that a user is interested in a certain star or planet, it will be able to motivate him or her to learn more about that star or planet.

5. Featured Star of the Day: The Featured Star of the Day feature allows users to take a look at and learn about a random star that is featured for that day.

6. Information about the Spectral Classes of Stars: This feature helps users look at the spectral classes of stars and their temperatures for reference. It also lets them look at the amount of stars that Star Expedition features that belong to each of the spectral classes and a list of stars that belong to each spectral class.

Users will start off with a seven-day free trial. Afterward, they can choose whether to pay a $1.99/month or $14.99/year subscription.
