About TakeHome Pay UK 2026/27
TakeHome Pay UK is a comprehensive UK take-home pay and tax planner for the 2026/27 tax year. Five purpose-built calculators for employees, contractors, freelancers, dividend earners and employers — all with the latest HMRC rates baked in.
✓ TAKE-HOME PAY (PAYE)
The full 2026/27 PAYE engine: Personal Allowance £12,570 with taper above £100,000, basic rate 20%, higher 40%, additional 45%. Scottish 6-band tariff (Starter 19% to Top 48%) with one tap. Class 1 National Insurance at 8% main / 2% above the Upper Earnings Limit. Tax codes supported: 1257L, BR, D0, D1, NT, K-codes, S-prefix Scottish. Student loan plans 1, 2, 4 (Scotland), 5 and Postgraduate. Workplace pension with optional salary-sacrifice (pre-tax) treatment.
✓ BONUS CALCULATOR
See exactly how much of your bonus you actually keep. Adds the bonus on top of your annual salary, recomputes tax + NI + student loan, and shows your net bonus, keep-rate and marginal rate side-by-side.
✓ DIVIDEND TAX
2026/27 dividend allowance £500, then 8.75% basic / 33.75% higher / 39.35% additional bands. Stacks dividends correctly on top of your other income (salary, pension, etc.) so you see the right band split.
✓ EMPLOYER NATIONAL INSURANCE
Secondary Class 1 NI at 15% above the £5,000 secondary threshold — the true cost of an employee. Six categories: standard, under 21, apprentice under 25, armed-forces veteran (first 12 months), Freeport employee, Investment Zone employee. See annual cost, monthly cost and total cost (salary + employer NI).
✓ PAY-RISE PLANNER
Compare your current and proposed salary side-by-side. See extra annual take-home, monthly delta, gross increase, deductions on the raise and your real keep-rate. Designed for negotiating a raise with eyes open.
