About Raven: Slow Messaging

Introducing Raven. Where every message is a journey, not just a notification. In a world brimming with instant gratification, Raven invites you to slow down and savor the anticipation of communication. Our app transforms your messages into enchanting adventures, carried across a real-world map by a cast of charming characters, each with their own leisurely pace. Imagine your words being carefully transported by a diligent raven, an amiable alpaca, or even a whimsical wizard, making their way through digital landscapes to deliver your thoughts and feelings.

What’s new

Version 2.11 · Updated August 28, 2026

Play incredibly slow chess on Raven! Online chess these days is insanely addictive. Whatever happened to just playing a game with a friend, sending a move, waiting for their response, having a sip of coffee, or watching a whole week go by, maybe your favorite band comes to town and you go see their show, maybe you meet someone fascinating in the ticket line, flutters of early potential romance, and then suddenly—you're in check, wait, what? Also app links! Extra egg drops and more! CAW CAW

Similar vibes to getting and sending a postcard, but without the hassle of buying postcards and putting them in the post! And you can send letters by cow and capybara. What's not to like? Update: messaging bug has been fixed! Support was helpful and quickly responded to my concerns! Thanks, Jack!

Christie Kelly

so cute 😭

It is dumb. But it is fun. If you want a slow messaging app with no practical use, this is it.
