Guardian

Guardian is a personal protection app designed to be your shield in moments of danger. It works silently in the background, allowing you to instantly start recording video or audio – even with the screen off – using only the volume buttons.

🛡️ How does it work?

One press on Volume Down → Record video with the front camera.

One press on Volume Up → Record video with the rear camera.

Two quick presses on Volume Down → Record audio.

Use the same button to stop recording immediately.

🔐 Complete privacy and encrypted security
All recordings are automatically encrypted with a password you set yourself (derived via PBKDF2 with AES-256-GCM). No third party – not even the app – can decrypt them without your password. You can also enable fingerprint unlock for easy access while maintaining tight security.

📤 Smart sharing with trusted contacts
Specify up to 3 numbers as trusted contacts.

Upon registration, you'll receive a notification for each number with a direct WhatsApp link and a pre-written message containing your location (if you choose).

In case of internet loss, an SMS backup is automatically sent to all numbers – without any intervention from you.

🧭 Additional features for advanced protection
"Check-In" timer: Start a timer before engaging in a risky activity (e.g., a trip, a date, a taxi). When it expires without cancellation, WhatsApp automatically opens with your current location for the contact.

"Follow Me" live location sharing: A notification that updates every minute with your location link for a duration you choose (30/60/90 minutes) – ideal while traveling.

"Fake Call": A button on the home screen to activate a fake call interface (with a ring) to help you get out of awkward situations.

📂 Encrypted and managed gallery
All recordings are stored within the app in encrypted form.

A maximum of 60 recordings are stored; the oldest are automatically deleted to maintain performance.

You can view, share, save, or delete any recording—with the ability to select multiple actions at once.

🔋 Stable and reliable background performance

Runs as a foreground service to ensure it continues even when the app is closed.

Uses the Accessibility Service to capture volume buttons without affecting the normal volume level.

Restarts automatically after device startup.
