Low Tide

Low Tide watches your phone while you swim.

Leave your phone in your bag, arm the app, and go in the water. If someone
picks the bag up and keeps moving with it, Low Tide sounds a loud alarm and
vibrates until the PIN is entered.

It will not stop it being stolen. What it does is make stealing it loud,
public, and slower than the thief expected — which is usually enough.

HOW IT WORKS

- Press Arm. The tide comes in and the screen goes dark.
- The accelerometer watches for movement.
- Brief knocks are ignored. Only sustained movement triggers the alarm, so a
nudged bag or a passing dog won't set it off.
- The alarm holds your volume at maximum. Turning it down does nothing.
- Only your PIN stops it.

IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ

The screen stays on while Low Tide is armed. Android stops apps running
shortly after the screen goes off, which would stop the alarm working, so
keeping the screen awake is what keeps the app watching. The armed screen is
almost entirely black to keep battery use low.

Before you leave your phone, use Android's built-in app pinning (Settings >
Security > Pin app). That stops anyone closing Low Tide without your phone's
own PIN. Without it, someone can simply swipe the app away.

Low Tide has no account and collects nothing about you. Your settings and your
PIN never leave your phone. It is free and supported by a single banner ad.
