Game Rules & Penalties: The game is played on a grid of dots where two players face off (Blue vs. Red).
Game Play
Dot Placement: Players take turns placing a dot of their color on one of the free intersections of the grid.
Capture Squares: A 1x1 square is captured when a player occupies all four corners (vertices). The player who places the 4th point closes the square, scores 1 point, and their color colors the inside of the square.
Combos: If a single point completes several squares simultaneously (up to 4 possible squares around a central point), the player scores all the corresponding points in one move.
Victory: The game ends when the grid is completely filled or the overall time limit expires. The player who has captured the most squares wins. In case of a tie, the match is declared a draw.
⏱️ Customizable Game Settings
Before starting a game (against AI or online), the creator can adjust the following rules:
Grid Size: 15x15, 20x20, 25x25, or 30x30 points.
Overall duration: 300s (5 min), 600s (10 min), 900s (15 min), or 1200s (20 min).
Thinking time per move: 15s, 20s, 25s, or 30s per turn.
Penalties and Automatic Forfeits
To maintain the dynamism of online games, several strict penalties are applied:
Time Penalty (Missed Turns): If a player lets their thinking time expire (e.g., 15 seconds) without scoring a point, their turn is lost. If a player accumulates 3 consecutive missed turns, they forfeit and automatically lose the game.
Reconnection Timeout: In the event of a network disconnection during an online game, the player has 30 seconds to reconnect. If this timeout is exceeded, the opponent automatically wins by forfeit.
Voluntary Abandonment: Leaving a game in progress via the abandon button results in an immediate defeat and awards the victory to the opponent.
