BLE Sniffer turns your phone into a passive Bluetooth Low Energy scanner. See every BLE device broadcasting around you, log what they're advertising, and physically locate the ones you care about — all without connecting to anything.

Think of it as a "sniff raw" mode for the Bluetooth Low Energy spectrum: capture everything, filter nothing, analyze offline. Whether you're sweeping a vacation rental for Bluetooth trackers, mapping the devices in your home, or reverse-engineering your own gadgets, BLE Sniffer shows you what's really on the air.

WHAT IT DOES

📡 Live device scanning
See a real-time list of every nearby BLE device — name, address, signal strength (RSSI), manufacturer, service UUIDs, advertisement count, and first/last-seen times. Sort by signal, activity, name, or recency.

🏷 Smart device identification
Built-in lookup of the complete Bluetooth SIG manufacturer registry — 4,000+ vendor IDs — plus name and vendor heuristics that flag notable devices: known camera brands, ESP32 boards, smart-home gear, fitness trackers, and more. Flagged devices get a clear visual badge and a reason you can read.

🎯 Proximity radar & "Geiger" mode
A radar view plots every device on concentric rings by signal strength. Pick one device and switch to single-device mode: a big live RSSI readout with color-coded background plus audio and haptic feedback that speeds up as you get closer — walk around and home in on it like a metal detector.

🗂 Sessions & baseline diffing
Save a scan as a named session. Capture a "home baseline," then scan a hotel or rental and diff the two — instantly see only the devices that are present in the new location but NOT at home. That short list is what's actually worth investigating.

📤 Full CSV export
Export any session or live scan as CSV — one row per advertisement, with timestamps, addresses, RSSI, manufacturer IDs, service UUIDs, TX power, and raw advertisement bytes. Share it anywhere via the system share sheet for offline analysis.

🔍 Optional device inspection
For devices you own, opt in to connect and browse the GATT service tree — read manufacturer, model, and firmware info and explore characteristics. Connections are always explicit and per-device; the app never auto-connects.

PERMISSIONS

Android requires Location permission to perform Bluetooth scanning — this is a platform rule because BLE beacons can be used for positioning. BLE Sniffer does not use, store, or share your location; it only needs the permission to see device broadcasts.

WHAT IT CANNOT DO

BLE Sniffer detects Bluetooth Low Energy advertisements only. It cannot sniff Bluetooth Classic, Wi-Fi, or cellular. That matters if you're hunting cameras: many hidden cameras run on Wi-Fi only, or record to a local card with no radio at all, and nothing in a BLE scan will reveal them. RSSI indicates proximity, not direction. Device labels are heuristic and can be wrong in both directions — treat them as leads, not verdicts.
