About Psynapse: Psychology Notes

Psychology arrives in fragments — eighteen sub-fields, overlapping vocabulary, and nobody ever hands you the map.

Psynapse is the map. Offline psychology notes, revision and exam questions for undergraduates and postgraduates. No connection, no account.

THE ATLAS
Every concept, linked to the sub-field it belongs to, the theorist who originated it, the study behind it, and — the part no other app has — the concepts it is most often confused with, and why. Beck or Ellis. Piaget or Vygotsky. Negative reinforcement or punishment. That confusion is what costs marks in exams, so it is what this app is built around.

• 3,253 concept entries across 18 sub-fields: clinical, abnormal, cognitive,
developmental, social, research methods, educational, I-O, forensic, health,
neuropsychology, personality, counselling, sports, community, cross cultural, environmental and consumer psychology
• 6,755 "often confused with" notes — the wedge between two terms, written out
• Every entry gives the plain-language definition first, then the academic one
• 170 theorists, with who they argued with — because the arguments are how the field is organised
• 84 landmark studies, each with its replication status, because a study app
that presents 1970s findings as settled fact is teaching you something false
• Full-text search across everything, with no connection required

WHAT CHANGED
690 things psychology used to teach and no longer does, each with what was believed, what the evidence did to it, and what a careful answer says now. Ego depletion. Power posing. The positivity ratio. Learning styles. Most were not refuted — they were revised, usually downward, and the revision travelled far more slowly than the original. No other psychology app will tell you this, because it is the part that makes the rest of the app trustworthy.

ALSO INSIDE
• 2,663 exam-style questions — every option explains itself, including the wrong
ones, because knowing why a distractor is wrong is the thing being tested
• 1,031 books worth reading, 245 with a note on which part did not replicate
• 38 assessment instruments explained — what each measures, its psychometrics, and its criticisms. No items, ever
• Urdu and Hindi glosses on 228 core terms
• 466 daily reads — over a year's worth before any repeat
• Statistics worked through, case vignettes, ethics, careers and licensure
routes for six countries

REVIEW THAT RESPECTS YOUR TIME
Spaced repetition using FSRS, the modern scheduler. Write the definition before you see it — producing an answer beats recognising one, and recognition is what most flashcard apps quietly train. There are no cards to make: every entry is already written.

EXAM MODE
Set a date and a syllabus. Get a countdown, a daily pace, and a readiness
percentage that is a plain proportion with no curve applied. A flattering
number sends you into an exam unprepared.

THE LAB
Not a wellness section bolted on. 139 tools built from the clinical techniques
you are studying — CBT thought records, behavioural activation, mood tracking, worry postponement, exposure ladders, breathing and grounding, and educational questionnaires (PHQ-9, GAD-7, K10). Every tool tells you the theory it comes from and links back into the Atlas. Doing a thought record teaches you Beck's model from the inside.

Crisis resources are one tap away from every screen in the Lab.

PRIVACY
No account. No login. Everything you write is stored encrypted on your phone
and never uploaded. No ads anywhere in the Lab, on any questionnaire, or on
the crisis screen.

WORKS OFFLINE
The entire library ships inside the app. On a bus, in a basement, on a plane.

IMPORTANT
Psynapse is an educational and self-help app. It does not diagnose anything.
The questionnaires it includes are screening tools presented for education, not assessments, and no score in this app means you do or do not have a condition.
If you are struggling, please speak to a qualified professional.
