Shyrdak Workshop is a creative pattern studio inspired by Kyrgyz felt carpets. Arrange ready-made motifs, color your composition, and explore the stories behind the craft.

Please note: the app interface, motif guide, lessons and quiz are currently in Korean.

Make room for your ideas
Choose from six motifs: paired horns, a talisman, a tulip, bird wings, a sunburst flower and a wave. Start with uncolored shapes, then drag, resize, rotate and flip them. Duplicate a motif or make a mirrored pair to explore balance and repetition.

Layer your composition
Move motifs forward or backward and select hidden shapes from the layer list. Try a felt-style background, white paper, warm-toned paper or grid paper without removing your design.

Arrange first, color next
Switch between layout and coloring modes. Use the palette to color a motif's main and inner areas separately, change the background, and choose a border color for the felt canvas. Undo and redo let you try a different direction.

Keep creating, then share
Your current design saves automatically on your device. Keep named projects and reopen them to continue editing. Export your artwork as a 1600 × 2000 PNG or open the Android share sheet to choose where to send it.

Explore the craft
The six-entry motif guide includes interpretations from reference materials, details to look for, and creative prompts. Add a motif from its guide page straight to your design. Four short lessons introduce Shyrdak, felt, the making process and its cultural context, followed by a three-question quiz.

Good to know
• Editing, the motif guide, lessons and quiz work offline. External references, the More Apps catalog and error diagnostics use an internet connection.
• Editable projects are stored on your device. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data can remove them, so export any artwork you want to keep.
• The app uses newly drawn motifs inspired by the tradition. Names and interpretations can vary by region and maker. It does not simulate the full process of making a physical felt carpet.
