Tempora

Some thoughts are meant for a later you. Tempora is a private time-capsule journal where you write a message today, choose a date far in the future, and seal it — after which it stays locked, unreadable, counting quietly down until the day it's meant to be opened. Set a capsule for next year, for a birthday, for five years from now, press the wax seal, and let it wait.

The sealed vault shows your capsules as closed envelopes, each with a live countdown to its open date; you can see that something is waiting, but not what it says. When the day finally comes, the seal cracks open with a small flourish and the message from your past self is yours to read at last, then kept in your opened collection to revisit whenever you like. An "on this day" feed brings back what you wrote or opened on this date in earlier years, turning the app into a slow, meaningful record of who you were.

Everything lives entirely on your device, behind an optional PIN, with no account, no cloud and no ads — just you and your future self, in English and Norwegian. Whether you're writing New Year resolutions to check in a year, a note to open on a milestone, or a letter to the person you'll be one day, Tempora keeps it safe until exactly the right moment.
