Metra: Metronome & BPM Trainer

Metra is a precise metronome for musicians who practise every day. Set the BPM, pick a time signature, add subdivisions and let the speed trainer raise the tempo while you play. It works for guitar, bass, drums, piano, violin, vocals and any instrument where steady timing matters.

ROCK-SOLID TIMING
Many metronome apps drift because they rely on timers. Metra schedules every click inside the audio buffer, counted in audio frames, so the beat stays steady for as long as you practise — even with the screen off.

A TEMPO DIAL MADE FOR PRACTICE
• Tempo from 20 to 300 BPM on a large dial you turn with your thumb
• +1 / −1 BPM buttons for fine adjustments
• Classical tempo markings from Grave and Largo to Allegro, Presto and Prestissimo
• Tap the dial to jump to a tempo marking

SPEED TRAINER
Build speed step by step. Every few bars the metronome changes the tempo by a set number of BPM until it reaches your target, then holds it. Set a target below the starting tempo and the trainer slows down instead — useful for cleaning up a difficult passage. Tempo changes land exactly on the downbeat.

TIME SIGNATURES, ACCENTS AND SUBDIVISIONS
• 2/4, 3/4, 4/4 and 6/8 presets, or 1 to 12 beats per bar
• Accented downbeat you can switch on or off
• Subdivisions: eighth notes, triplets and sixteenth notes on a lighter click, so the main pulse stays clear

CLICK SOUNDS AND VOLUME
Choose between four synthesised click sounds: studio click, woodblock, rim and beep. Adjust the volume. The accent and subdivision clicks always match the sound you pick.

SILENT VIBRATING METRONOME
Feel every beat as a vibration, together with the click or instead of it. Turn the sound off and you have a silent metronome for quiet rooms, or for when you cannot hear the click over a loud amp or a drum kit.

BUILT FOR REAL PRACTICE SESSIONS
• Keeps playing in the background with the screen off, with a Stop button in the notification
• Plays over your backing track, or pauses other audio — your choice
• Stops when headphones are disconnected instead of switching to the speaker

WEAR OS METRONOME
Metra includes a standalone metronome app for Wear OS smartwatches. It works without the phone: turn the crown to change the tempo, start the click, and feel each beat on your wrist. The metronome keeps running when you lower your arm, and you can return to it from the watch face.
