About Quiet Money: Insider Trading
Quiet Money reads public financial filings and shows you what they say, when they were filed, and how late that was.
NOT A GOVERNMENT APP: Quiet Money is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting on behalf of any government or government agency, including the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Germany's Federal Gazette (Bundesanzeiger) or Sweden's Finansinspektionen. We only read the public records they publish, and link to the original.
Three sources, one feed:
• US CONGRESS — a politician stock tracker built from the Periodic Transaction Reports that members of the House file, parsed straight from the Clerk's own PDFs. More than 10,800 trades from more than 120 members.
• SEC FORM 4 — insider trading filings at US listed companies: the purchases company insiders must report within two business days by law.
• NET-SHORT REGISTERS, GERMANY AND SWEDEN — the positions hedge funds must disclose to the German and Swedish regulators when they bet against a company. Updated every weekday. Almost nobody reads these; they are public.
OFFICIAL SOURCES
• US Congress trades: Office of the Clerk, U.S. House of Representatives — https://disclosures-clerk.house.gov/FinancialDisclosure
• Insider purchases (Form 4): U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, EDGAR — https://www.sec.gov/edgar/search/
• German net short positions: Federal Gazette (Bundesanzeiger) — https://www.bundesanzeiger.de/pub/en/nlp
• Swedish net short positions: Finansinspektionen — https://www.fi.se/en/our-registers/net-short-positions/
WHY THE DATES MATTER
A disclosure is not news — it is history with a timestamp. The STOCK Act gives a member of Congress 45 days to report a trade. Form 4 allows two business days. A short-position register updates daily.
So every row in Quiet Money prints its own gap: traded on this date, filed on that one, this many days later. When a congressional filing passes the 45-day limit, we say so, because that is what the law says. We would rather show you the delay than pretend a feed of disclosures is live.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Follow up to three stocks free, no account needed, and see the newest filing on each
• This week's quiet moves: the latest insider buy, Congress trade and short position
• Search any ticker, ISIN or member of Congress
• Open a company page: every insider purchase, Congress trade and disclosed short position we hold on it, and how the price has held up on heavy-selling days
• Open a member of Congress and read what they disclosed, how fast they filed it, and which names come up most
• Tap any figure to open the original document on the regulator's own site
• Share any page; it opens on quietmoneyapp.com
WHAT WE DO NOT DO
We publish no predictions, no price targets and no performance figures. Where we summarise, the filings behind the summary are printed next to it. Congress discloses an amount as a range, so we print the range — we never take the midpoint and call it a number. A periodic transaction report lists trades, not holdings, so we do not show you a "portfolio" assembled from gaps the filings do not contain.
If a document cannot be read cleanly, we reject it rather than guess at it.
FREE AND PRO
Until payments open in the app, every page in it is free. After that, three stocks stay free with their full company pages, no account needed, and Pro opens the rest: every company and member page, the full filing history, no cap on how many stocks you follow, and an alert pushed to your phone on the first sweep when something big changes on a stock you follow. The whole archive stays free to read on quietmoneyapp.com.
Pro is €3.99 per week, €9.99 per month or €69.99 per year. Your subscription renews automatically and can be cancelled any time in Google Play.
Public filings, reported as filed. Quiet Money is not a government app and not investment advice, and it does not recommend any security.
