About Prayers of excellent wife
What better words to pray for our husbands than the very words of his Maker? Prayers for Excellent Wife provides a guide for humbly engaging in the joyful duty of intercession, petition, and thanksgiving for our husbands. I am delighted to speak these prayers with and on behalf of Matt. Just imagine how our marriages, families, and in turn, the cause of Christ would be forever changed if godly wives took seriously their responsibility to pray for their husbands. We know that we are commanded to pray—and to pray daily and specifically for our husbands. Sadly, that mandate too often gets pushed aside, to Satan’s delight and our detriment, by the hectic pace of our lives.
Statistics show that marriage today is failing in the body of Christ just as it is failing in the world. We as believers know we are called for a higher purpose. A marriage in trouble means the future generation will have issues to deal with which could have been dealt with in the marriage.
These prayers should not replace your personal communication with your husband but should be used to help build him up in the spirit realm so he leads the household just like Christ heads the church. It doesn't matter where your husband or marriage is but these prayers can help you as a wife see clearly and begin to take steps that will restore your marriage.
We want to be the woman we all grew up watching on television who is kind-hearted, who laughs when her husband fumbles something, or is okay when he goes out seven nights a week with friends. The problem is that being a good wife is an illusion that destroys the way we see ourselves as well as the way that men think their wives should be.
If you are asking how to be a good wife, there is a good chance that you think you aren’t good enough. Take heart; the fact that you even care makes you pretty damn amazing. If I had a dollar for every time that I saw a woman berate her husband, make a honey-do list that takes up the entire weekend, or say goodbye every weekend to go for another “girls getaway,” I would be a very wealthy woman.
