About us?
FEMADDI is a public utility entity, in accordance with the provisions of article 1.5 of Decree 159/1996, and in addition to its own powers, it exercises, by delegation, public functions of an administrative nature, acting in this case as a collaborating agent of the Administration. public.

It is a non-profit entity registered in the General Directorate of Sports of the Community of Madrid with the number 53, therefore it is the official organization in sports for the intellectually disabled in the community of Madrid.

The objective of FEMADDI is the practice and promotion of sport for people with intellectual disabilities, in accordance with the regulations of the Community of Madrid and the national and international organizations that govern sport.

Control and management bodies
The Federation is made up of the General Assembly, the Delegate Commission and the President, who are elected by the Federation's estates (sports clubs, coaches and athletes) coinciding every four years, by free and secret suffrage.

Subsequently, it will be the function of the President to constitute the Board of Directors with the appointment of its members.


The federation and the clubs
FEMADDI will strengthen the Federative movement by promoting the constitution of stable sports entities (sports clubs, sports groups, sports action sections...), in accordance with the provisions of the Sports Law of the Community of Madrid.

FEMADDI currently has 54 federated Sports Entities.

athletes
They are people with intellectual disabilities of ALL ages who must prove a percentage of disability of 33% or higher, by means of a disability certificate issued by official bodies arranged for this purpose by the administration.

To participate in the different sports modalities, they must process a sports license from FEMADDI. Said license allows them to participate in regional and national sporting events and, at the same time, be in possession of sports accident insurance.

FEMADDI currently has more than 1,850 official licenses.

The technicians and delegates
They are professionals from centers, clubs and entities related to the intellectually disabled. In the case of sports technicians, they must have a sports license where they prove the possession of a sports degree related to the sport they practice. Their mission is not only sports, they also train athletes, promoting and developing attitudes of fair play, camaraderie, coexistence and participation.

It is the mission of FEMADDI, with the support of the Public Administrations of the Community of Madrid, to offer continuous training that allows improving the knowledge of adapted sport among all its technicians and delegates.

The volunteers
FEMADDI, having an important social connotation, must carry out a volunteer program with the aim of attracting, training and motivating the people who collaborate with the different sports programs. Volunteers are people related to sports (INEFs, Physical Education Teachers, TAFAD, sports technicians...) who offer their time and experience for the benefit of people with Intellectual disabilities.

The figure of the volunteer will always support professionals, facilitating their work and improving care for athletes.

The society
It is FEMADDI's Mission to promote sport for people with intellectual disabilities in the Community of Madrid, so that all institutions, social agents and society in general value and recognize the effort made by our athletes.
