Pausa — a short, honest pause before autopilot app-opening

We open distracting apps on reflex, dozens of times a day, often without deciding to. Pausa doesn't block your apps or lecture you — it just puts a brief, calm pause between you and the apps you've chosen to be more intentional about, so opening them becomes a choice again instead of a habit.

How it works
Add the apps you want a pause for. When you open one of them, Pausa shows a short pause screen — you can take a breath, close it, or continue through if you still want to. No shame, no streak-breaking guilt trips, no dark patterns forcing you to stay.

Rules, routines, and schedules
• Set pause rules per app, or group apps into routines
• Schedule when rules are active (e.g. only during work hours, or after 9pm)
• Turn any rule on or off instantly from the Rules tab

Focus sessions
Start a focus session when you want stricter, time-boxed protection — useful for study blocks, deep work, or just an hour away from the noise.

Insights
See how often a pause screen appeared, how you responded, and (optionally) your overall app usage totals — all calculated and shown entirely on your device.

Built on privacy, not surveillance
• No account, no sign-up, no server — Pausa has no backend at all
• No internet permission — the app is technically unable to transmit data anywhere
• No analytics, no ads, no third-party tracking SDKs
• Everything — rules, routines, and usage data — is stored locally in a database on your phone
• Delete all local data anytime from Settings, in one tap
• If you enable the Accessibility permission (needed to detect which app you've opened), Pausa only ever reads the foreground app's package name — never on-screen text, messages, or content of any kind

Permissions are optional and explained upfront
Every permission Pausa asks for is explained in plain language before you're asked, and the app keeps working in a limited mode if you decline. You can revoke any permission at any time from Android Settings.

Pausa is for anyone who's opened an app, put the phone down, and wondered "why did I even open that?" — and wants a little more say over the next time it happens.
