Outrider Trails

Outrider Trails is built for people who haul horses to ride.

Most trail apps tell you distance and elevation. Outrider answers the questions riders actually text each other the night before: Can I get my rig in there? Is there water? What's the road in like? Where can we camp with the horses?

FIND A PLACE TO RIDE
• Horse trails, trailheads and horse camps on public land, sorted by distance from you
• Water, trailer parking, the road in and footing, wherever we know them
• Every detail says where it came from and when: agency records are labeled as agency records, and rider reports are dated
• Maps with current fire activity, trailhead weather forecasts, and an optional layer showing who manages the land

RECORD YOUR RIDE
• Record your route with the phone in your pocket and the screen off
• Recording works with no cell signal.
• Keep your rides, distance, climb and time on your phone, and export them as GPX
• Keep track of the miles each of your horses has ridden

RIDE TOGETHER
• Plan a ride and send an invite. Friends see the trail, parking, water and meeting time, and RSVP without downloading anything
• Join rides other riders are organizing

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No account and no sign-up
• Your rides stay on your phone. We never show anyone where you rode
• If you choose, your rides can join an anonymous count of horse use on public trails, a number land managers have never had. It's off until you turn it on
• No ads, and we never sell your information

Recording only starts when you tap Record and stops when you stop it, with a notification showing the whole time.

Outrider is for riders 18 and over. Trail information comes from public agency records and rider reports. Conditions change, so check with the managing agency before you go.
